On July 1, 2004, the Department of Education, Business and International Education (BIE) Program awarded MSU Global a grant to help address Title VI, Section 611 (a) of the Higher Education Act.

The Act outlines four areas of need in relation to business and international education programs:

1. The need to increase international skills in the business community;
2. The need to engage business schools, public and private sector organizations, and U.S. business in relationships that will benefit the nation’s economic interests;
3. The need to increase linkages between the manpower and information needs of U.S. business and the international education capacities of institutions of higher education in the United States;
4. The need to use organizations such as world trade councils, chambers of commerce, and state departments of commerce to link universities and business for joint venture exploration and program development.

MSU Global teamed with experts in the international finance field to create the materials you find on this site. The resources should increase international skills in the business community by addressing the need of the international trade practitioner for knowledge and information that is specific to trade finance, and by providing a means for educators and business practitioners to transfer knowledge, skills, and understanding of the global marketplace to a number of prospective learners.
